Hidden within the Flat Iron area of mid-town Manhattan is the Flatiron hotel. This boutique hotel features just 65 rooms which makes it a cozy destination for travelers looking to stay in New York City. The Flatiron hotel is also known for being a late night destination thanks to Toshi’s Living Room and Penthouse. What’s interesting about Toshi’s is that they don’t advertise and as their website says, “if you know about us, that’s because a friend told you”. So, now the secret’s out… check out this very cool space for a fun time. This is the home of the NEW Ace Hotel which is slated to open in Los Angeles, California very soon. As you can see the space is of the old United Artists Theatre building on Broadway. I am really excited to see how the space is going to be renovated into a new hotel.

In other news, I had a chance to meet Brad Wilson who is President at Ace Hotel Group and I got exclusive information about 3 new Ace Hotels which are currently in development!! Keep checking my blog in the next few months for more information about these exciting new hotels coming to market.

The Avicii Hotel Promotion!

The Marlin Hotel at 1200 Collins Avenue in South Beach is transforming into the Avicii Hotel 15 - 25 March 2013 to celebrate the largest electronic music festival in the world ULTRA Miami. The promotion includes four available room packages where customers can get an Avicii gift bag, Ultra Music Festival VIP tickets, and a personal invite to Avicii’s annual private party at a secret location. I think this is an awesome idea to promote both Avicii and the Marlin Hotel. To learn more about this crazy collaboration check out the promotion’s website here: http://www.theaviciihotel.com/. Also check out the promotional video as well on my next post! For all those going to ULTRA this year have an amazing time and see you next year in Miami!

The pictures above are exclusive photos from the development site of the new 5 Beekman hotel which is opening in New York City. The hotel is going to be managed by Thomson Hotels and is going to feature two fine dining restaurants and tons of lounge and communal space. I am really looking forward to seeing the completed product once the renovation is completed. After seeing the amazing 5 Beekman building and getting insight on the planned design and operations I have no doubt that this is going to be an amazing property and will hopefully revitalize the City Hall area of lower Manhattan.

Marriott International recently announced their newest hotel brand called Moxy. The brand is launching exclusively in Europe and boasts chic design, high-quality service, communal spaces, and low prices! Finally, we get to see one of the big hotel brands roll out a new hotel brand where customers can get a genuinely cool room for less than $150/night in great gateway cities such as Milan, Berlin, Frankfurt, and London. Featured in a February 22, 2013 article for the New York Times about hostels is Downtownbeds as pictured above.  The hostel is located in Mexico City, Mexico and is operated by Grupo Habita which is the same company which manages Hotel Americano in NYC and various other lifestyle hotels around the U.S. and Latin America. Mexico City is a huge city actually like 4 times the size of NYC. I actually had the opportunity to live in Mexico City for 3 months a few years back working for the largest hotel company in Latin Amercia. Downtownbeds is located in the historic district of town which is a great spot to stay while visiting the city. To learn more about this design oriented and fun hostel visit their website here: http://www.downtownbeds.com/.

I love the Ace hotel in NYC but here is the Ace hotel in Palm Springs, CA. This is a very chic hotel built on the foundation of a 1965 Howard Johnson. The 170 room hotel, spa, & resort is fun hideout close to Joshua Tree and walking distance from downtown Palm Springs. If you’re in the Palm Springs area you definitely need to check this hotel out, not only to see the amazing decor but to party it up at the Amigo Room bar which has live music and DJs almost every night. To learn more about the hotel check out their website here: http://www.acehotel.com/palmsprings.

The Rooms Hotel in Kazbegi, Georgia. Never been to Georgia but if I did I would so check this hotel out.  I love the interiors with the wood and large chandeliers. Plus, the views are incredible and having horses on the property is pretty interesting.  I found this interesting hotel @ http://www.yatzer.com/Rooms-Hotel-Kazbegi-Georgia.

Behold the ‘We’ Hostel of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Now, I am a huge fan of hotels, but if more hostels looked like this place then I would totally being staying in hostels for sure! The hostel was designed my famed architect Felipe Hess for his good friend Guilherme Perez. The duo converted an old traditional mansion into a 46 bed chic design hostel. The hostel has a lot of retro furniture and eclectic pieces of art which give it a young, fresh, and clean vibe. There are many cool and new aspects that the hostel brings to life such as the bar at the eat&drink area, the integration of Qr code technology, and the wide range of amenities such as personal lockers, free wifi, breakfast, and even turn-down service (yes I said turn-down service to make the bed lol). So if you are interested in learning more about this amazing concept check them out here: http://wehostel.com.br/. Also, if you would like to see more amazing photos of the property you can find them here: http://www.yatzer.com/we-hostel-sao-paulo-brazil.
